About

Hungarian born keyboard player, Tímea Daradics captivates the attention of her listeners with her elegant, sophisticated and brilliant style. Having keyboard repertory in her hands from the 14th to the 19th century makes her one of the most versatile performers of her generation in the early music scene. Currently based in Basel, Switzerland, she is engaged in the medieval and renaissance music scenery while pursuing post-graduate studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Corina Marti.
She is quickly becoming to be on demand on the international stages. Her performances include recitals at the Utrecht Early Music Festival Fringe (NL), Banchetto Musicale Festival (LT), Sumskas Manor Early Music Festival (LT), the Fortepianarium in Zabrze (PL), the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall (UK) and several other venues across the Netherlands and Switzerland. Tímea is founder of the groups Cibus Ensemble and Duo Emea. Cibus Ensemble is aiming to present medieval music in its colourful and expressive nature using a combination of instruments and voice, while her duo with singer Emile Ribokaite is bringing and intimate set-up of single voice and keyboard, stretching the borders and exploring the possibilities of expression while pairing music with literature.
Tímea’s aim of being able to master all existing keyboard instruments led her to discover earlier and earlier repertories and instruments. She completed her Bacherlor's degree at the Royal College of Music in London, with fortepianist Geoffrey Govier and harpsichordist Terence Charlston, and at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, in the fortepiano and harpsichord classes of Bart van Oort, Siebe Henstra and Patrick Ayrton. Searching for new challenges and her desire of building a versatile and colorful musical identity led her to the prestigious Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she worked for her master degree with Corina Marti and Francesco Corti on medieval and renaissance keyboard instruments, harpsichord and organ. During her master program she has been generously supported by the Basel based Cantilena Stiftung. During her extensive training, she participated in workshops and masterclasses of some of the leading experts of the early music world, such as Menno van Delft (NL) and Julian Perkins, Malcolm Bilson, Wolfgang Brunner and Richard Egarr, Catalina Vicens, Michal Gondko, Andrés Locatelli, Eugeen d’Abelardo and Marcel Pérés.
Tímea is also engaged in the musical education of the new generations as a private teacher and leading educational activities. She believes that the future hugely depends on how we educate children and young people. She aims to keep her pupils open minded regardless of which keyboard instrument they learn, and giving the chance to them to discover and experience the huge variety of music and instruments of the different historical periods. Next to her teaching activities, she is working as an organist in Allerheiligen Kirche, Basel.
